How it Works
Laser tattoo removal works by breaking up the ink particles in your skin so your body can naturally clear them away over time.
We use a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser, one of the most advanced and trusted technologies for tattoo removal. This laser sends out very short, high-energy pulses of light that specifically target the tattoo ink, without harming the surrounding skin.
Different ink colors absorb different wavelengths of light, so the laser energy causes the ink particles to shatter into tiny fragments. Your body’s immune system then gradually removes these fragments, causing the tattoo to fade with each session.
For certain colors like red, orange, or purple, we also use pulsed dye laser heads. These are designed to target and remove stubborn warm-toned pigments more effectively, giving you a more complete and even result.
Most tattoos need multiple sessions, spaced 8 weeks apart, to achieve the best possible clearance via the lymphatic system.

Prep & Aftercare
Preparation
It’s important to avoid sun exposure and solarium use for at least 4 weeks before your treatment and throughout your tattoo removal plan. Sunlight can make your skin more sensitive to the laser, increasing the risk of burning, blistering, or pigment changes such as darkening (hyperpigmentation) or lightening (hypopigmentation).
We also recommend avoiding fake tans and self-tanning products before your session. On the day of your appointment, please ensure the area is clean and free from any makeup, lotions, or artificial pigments so the laser can work safely and effectively.
During Treatment
Before we begin, your clinician will cleanse the area and may apply a cooling device or numbing cream to keep you comfortable. The laser emits quick, high-energy pulses of light that target the tattoo pigment without damaging the surrounding skin.
You’ll feel a short, snapping sensation with each pulse similar to a rubber band flick, but treatments are generally well-tolerated. The session length depends on the size and color of your tattoo, ranging from a few minutes for small designs to longer sessions for larger areas.
After each session, you’ll notice the tattoo appears slightly whiter or frosted, this is a normal, temporary reaction to the laser energy.
Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential for achieving the best results and minimizing side effects.
-
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours.
-
Apply a soothing or antibacterial ointment as recommended by your clinician.
-
Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming pools, and direct sun exposure for several days after treatment.
-
Do not pick or scratch any scabbing or blistering that may occur, this is a normal part of the healing process.
-
Continue to avoid tanning or self-tanning products until the skin is fully healed.
You may experience mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity for a few days, similar to a light sunburn. This usually subsides quickly as the skin recovers.
